Development of this app was funded by EMOUNDERGROUNDS project. Fortress of Culture was one of the 9 partners from 7 countries. Project was co-financed from the Interreg ADRION transnational cooperation programme, in the amount of 85% of the value. Total project value was 2.599.994,86 €; Fortress of Culture budget amounted to 321.907,53 €.
The EMOUNDERGROUNDS project aims at the systematisation of all the interventions for the promotion and enhancement of the cultural heritage of the Adriatic-Ionic area (with its castles, fortresses and buildings with underground passages) and at the consequent strengthening of the attractiveness and the competitiveness of its tourist destinations with a sustainable approach and by using ICT (Information and Communications Technology), new media and innovative marketing tools. The overall project objective is to boost tourism development and quality and promote the smart, inclusive and sustainable growth of the territory along with new cultural-creative tourism products that are market-oriented.
Besides mobile app, the most visible project result of Fortress of Culture Šibenik is the implementation of VR technology at the Šibenik fortresses.
